Kelli's Fund was started a few years ago
when we got a young dog in who had been hit by a car and needed to
have surgery on her pelvis. That sort of expense is obviously above
what we are normally able to do for our shelter animals. We encourage
people to donate to this fund; you can specify that money go to
Kelli's fund and it will be used for extra medical care for our
animals.
In the paste we have used Kelli's fund
to fix up animals who have been hit by cars, we have docked tails of
dogs that have been injured or hurt by the malady called "happy tail"
which is caused by dogs who are so happy and wag so hard that they
open the tips of their tails banging it on kennel walls. We have used
the fund to pay for diagnostic testing to ascertain how to best treat
a cat or dog. We've used this a number of times to test a nursing
mother cat to best treat her and, in turn, her kittens. We have been
able to use money in the fund to pay for extraordinary medicine--for
example, medicine for an epileptic dog or medicine needed to treat for
mange.
If you have further questions on this
fund, feel free to call or email us. Every little bit helps.
